Cross Stitch The Florist

Cross Stitch "The Florist"

My friend, who taught me to cross stitch many years ago, when we were both 14, started the coolest cross stitch. We ooed and ahhed over the picture (old fashioned cars on “the main strip”), the difficult pattern, etc. She confessed that she wasn’t feeling very motivated and figured it would take her years to complete it if she ever managed to complete it at all. So somehow, between the two of us we decide to “compete”, I would get a similarly difficult cross stitch and we would encourage each other to get ‘er done.

Her pattern consists of 90,000 stitches. After many hours I picked one from Amazon and ordered it (Two of the same by accident actually, woopsies). Mine, The Florist, just shy of 120,000 stitches. Let the games begin!

The kit arrives!

The inside of the kit (Or the backside)

The VERY large canvas

All laid out. The thread set up is actually very cool, the backs of those pieces of cardboard with "Max Stitch" written across them have the DMC numbers and the amount of thread bundles listed.

Finding the center. (Hoping to get a bigger loop)

And so it begins!
