3rd attempt at Hamadox

3rd Attempt at Hamadox

Hamadox Zentangle with Distress inks
Hamadox Zentangle with Distress inks

I just love this Hamadox thing! This time I used my trusty Distress inks to play with the colouring.   I wasn’t initially going to do any background colour, but I dropped my wet paintbrush on the paper as I was reaching for my water, and well, que sera, sera.

I’ve included loads of progressive pics here, so have a gander and follow me along on this little journey.  If you have any questions at all about the processes I used, don’t be shy, I’m happy to answer!

Oh! But before we get to the progressive pics - here's a video on my little twist to Hamadox.

Just the line art, though I did almost forget to take the pic and started some of the colour.

Here I've done the ribbons with my usual makeshift paint palette made of up the tinfoil from my smoke pack.

I've started to fill in the colour here, then dropped my brush and worked a bit on the background

Everything looks better with a little pink!

Almost done! Just need to shade and highlight!

And finally the finished piece...

These are the main inks I used here:

And this is the pink I used as well:

All things DraWings!

All things DraWings!

“All things DraWings!” It rhymes – look at me go being all poetic and schtuff.   How awesome is it that the Diva Challenge this week was Eni Oken’s challenge last week!  There was already a DraWings tangle snuck into in my Orb-La-Dee contribution to the Diva Challenge last week – so this times out perfectly for my "All Things DraWings" Post! YAY ME!

This is my summary post of all of the DraWings experiences I’ve had over the last week or so.  The DraWings Zentangle pattern was created by By Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas the original tangle step-out can be found here.

A special “Thank you” to Eni Oken who posted this DraWings challenge on her amazing FB page “Shading Zentangle”.  Be sure to stop by her website and check out her very cool books!

At the bottom of this page you'll find the 3 pieces I've done with DraWings.  Click on the link beside any of the photos to see the full posts and line art etc. for each piece.

Last but not least, here is my video of a nice and basic DraWings Zentangle design.

Here is the full post for my first DraWings attempt

Here is the full post for my 2nd DraWings attempt

Here is the full post of my 3rd DraWings attempt

Do you have a blog with a DraWings Zentangle post on it? Add the link to your DraWings Zentangle post below so others can view your work!  (please do not link to your main page, just the post with a DraWings zentangle on it)

This week's Diva Challenge was to use Linda Farmer's tangle "Keeko".  I didn't take any before pics since my camera was busy making this video. Hope you enjoy!

All Things Skye Zentangle

All Things Skye Zentangle

The Skye Zentangle was created by Margaret Bremner and she really gets all of the credit here.  What an amazing pattern to create!

I had a tough time getting the hang of this tangle. Hence the obsession with it and multiple Skye tiles/pieces.  I might have gotten a wee bit carried away on this one, but when I love a pattern, I want to get it right, and I want to learn it in a way that it will become second nature for me to draw it up on the spot.

There are probably many different approaches to this tangle.  This video gives you the basics you need to get started.

Changing the size of the loops and the longer lines can really alter the look of this design.

Here are a few of my the pieces you might have already seen, but they really show some of the variations this pattern can have.

And finally, a look at all of my Skye Tangly goodness together in one shot.

Jaysix Zentangle Again

Jaysix Zentangle Again

Jaysix Zentangle Shaded
Jaysix Zentangle Shaded

I think this will be my last Jaysix focused tangle for a while.  I hope to use it as a filler in the future though, it’s quite versatile and pretty fun.  Be sure to check out Eni’s page with the step out, as this is her awesome design.

Here is the before pic:

Here is a video of me shading in the end of the piece:

And the final pic here:

Check out my other Jaysix Zentangle pieces on this blog too!
